Terms of Use

Last updated: July 20, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Keepsake Studio website at keepsakeqrcodes.com ("the site"). By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, do not use the site.

1. The service

Keepsake Studio provides free, browser-based tools for composing QR code keepsakes. Compositions are produced by JavaScript on your device; the content you encode and the photos you work with are yours and are not transmitted to us (see the privacy policy). The site also offers an optional free account for saving projects.

2. No guarantee of suitability

We work to keep the encoding accurate — the composition logic is tested and documented on the methodology page — but the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Real-world scanning depends on factors outside the code itself (print quality, size, lighting, scanner software), and the destinations codes point to are operated by third parties or by you, not by us. You are responsible for testing any composed code with a real device before printing, framing, distributing, or otherwise relying on it — especially for occasions that cannot be repeated.

3. Accounts

If you create an account:

  • It is free and optional — composing and downloading keepsakes works without one. An account exists solely to store the projects you choose to save.
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Email confirmation is required at sign-up.
  • Free projects are retained for 30 days each from the moment they are saved, after which they expire and are permanently removed. This limit is enforced automatically at the database layer. Downloaded keepsakes are unaffected — they are files on your device.
  • An account can store up to 200 projects at a time.
  • You can delete individual projects or all of them at any time; deleting the account itself works as described on the account page and in the privacy policy.
  • We may suspend or delete accounts used in violation of these terms, and may delete accounts after extended inactivity following reasonable notice to the account email.

4. Acceptable use of the site and of composed codes

You agree to use the site lawfully and not to:

  • Create or distribute codes for unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purposes — including codes that lead to phishing pages, malware, or scams, or codes placed over legitimate codes to intercept their traffic;
  • Use composed codes to impersonate another person or organization or to misrepresent who is behind a link, message, or payment request — including exploiting the trust context of a wedding, funeral, or other occasion to deceive its guests;
  • Encode or embed content you have no right to distribute;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the site, its hosting, or its security;
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content by automated means in a manner that burdens the service.

Because composition happens in your browser, we do not and cannot review the content of the codes you compose. You are solely responsible for what you encode and where you deploy it. If we learn — for example through an abuse report — that projects saved to an account violate these terms, we may remove them.

5. Intellectual property

The site's content — text, explanations, frame designs, page design, and code — is owned by the site operator and protected by applicable intellectual-property law. The keepsakes you compose are yours: we claim no rights over your compositions, the content you encode, or the photos you use. You may quote brief excerpts of the site with attribution; you may not republish substantial portions of the site as your own.

6. Third-party services and advertising

The site may link to third-party sites and may in the future display clearly-labeled advertising (see the privacy policy for the current state). Third-party services and sites — including the destinations your codes point to — are governed by their own terms; Keepsake Studio is not responsible for their content or practices, and the presence of an advertisement is not an endorsement.

7. Availability and modification

We may add, change, suspend, or remove tools or content at any time, and may modify these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Note that keepsakes you have downloaded are static files independent of the site — they keep working regardless of the site's availability, though saved projects remain subject to the 30-day retention in section 3.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or business, arising from or related to your use of the site, any composed code, the expiry of any saved project, or reliance on any result the site produces. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the site operator’s principal place of business, and disputes are subject to the courts competent for that place, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country or state of residence provides otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited by agreement.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms — and reports of codes or accounts used abusively — can be raised through the contact page.
